Consortium Fast Facts

• Established in 1972
• Board of Directors comprised of institution presidents (or regional campus leader)
• 5 full- and part-time Consortium staff members
• $430,000 annual operating budget
• Offers a college access program for Hartford-area public high school students, cross-registration in courses among all member schools, faculty grants, regional roundtables on issues in higher education, internships
• Partner with the MetroHartford Alliance in Graduate! CT, a return to learning resource program for adults
• Members include 4 public institutions, 5 private institutions, 2 seminaries with a combined:
• 35,000+ students and 3,000+ full- and part-time faculty members
• 400 majors, fields of graduate study and certificate programs
• 2.5 million library volumes
• More than 1,500 events open to the public annually (exhibits, lectures, sports, workshops)
• Over $370 million combined annual payrolls helping to drive the region’s economic engine
